Will my school/employer recognize your certification?

Yes. All certifications through CPR Works of Charlotte are through the American Heart Association.

 

I am a nursing/dental or medical student, what certification do I need?

You need to take the BLS for Healthcare Providers course in person or online.

 

If I take the course online will my employer accept it?

Yes. You will receive the same certification card as anyone who takes the full course in person. There is no distinction and no one but you will no you took the course online.

 

Is a book required and if so, how do I get it?

If you are taking CPR for the first time a book is required. You can purchase your book here

 

Will I need a book for online courses?

No. Online courses do not require any extra materials.

 

I’m not in healthcare but I want to learn CPR what course should I take?

The Heartsaver CPR course covers CPR basics and meets the needs of non-healthcare providers.

 

How long does certification last?

CPR certifications through the American Heart Association are valid for 2 full years.

 

I completed my online course. How do I schedule my skills check off?

Just go to the calendar and book your skills session for free.

 

How long do I have to complete my skills check off after I finish my online course?

You have 60 day to complete your skills session.

 

Do I have to pay separate for skills check off?

No. Skills check off is included in your course price.

 

What do I have to do at check off?

Your online course will inform you of the skills you’ll need to perform at your skills check off session.

 

I’ve never had a CPR class. Is it okay to take the online course?

If you’ve never had a hands on CPR course it is recommended that you enroll in a hands on course rather than online. You need hands on practice.

 

Do all courses require a skills check off session?

No. Some courses do not require skills check off. Refer to the online course page for detailed information.

 

Will I receive continuing education credits for taking an online course?

Yes. Some online courses issue continuing education credits. Refer to the online course page for detailed information.

 

I lost my certification card. What do I do?

If your card was issued by CPR Works of Charlotte, we will have you in our data base. We can issue a replacement card for a nominal fee.

 

I lost my online course completion certificate. What do I do?

If you completed your online course through CPR Works of Charlotte we will be able to track the date of your course completion and issue a replacement certificate for a nominal fee.

 

I registered for a class and can not attend. What do I do?

You may reschedule your class within 30 days or request a partial refund.

 

I registered for my skills check off session but I can not attend. What do I do?

You may reschedule at any time as long as you complete your skills check off within 60 days of completing your online course.

 

Are your certifications OSHA approved?

Yes. American Heart Association Certifications meet or exceed OSHA standards.

 

Business groups:

Can CPR works manage educational requirements for any sized business?

Yes. We can customize an online educational plan for your employees. We are capable of planning, implementing and monitoring your needs from start to finish

 

How do we as a business keep track and ensure we are meeting OSHA requirements?

We do it for you.

 

Will your courses count as continuing education hours/credits?

Yes. We issue certificates/certifications for all courses completed.

 

Will our liability insurance premiums be reduced if we utilize training through CPR Works of Charlotte?

Yes. We can certify and keep your employees up to date on certifications which will qualify your company to receive insurance discounts.

 

Should we have our employees complete online courses or have CPR Works instructors come to us?

There are options. Online courses are convenient, time and money saving.  We can set up practice stations at your worksite allowing your employees to complete their skills sessions along with their online training without having to leave the worksite.

 

How do we keep track of employee certifications?

We do it for you. Once you purchase online training keys for your employees, they are entered into our data base. From there we are capable of advising, managing, reassigning and reporting to you on a regular basis as deemed by your needs.
